Okay.. I know this isn’t a ‘camcorder’ per se, but you can take some video with it. I’m just super stoked on this offer.I just bought this camera after doing some extensive research on my own over the last two weeks. This is the Canon EOS Rebel XSi DSLR. I’ve been searching for one for a while, and after some debating between the XS vs. XSi, I decided to go with the higher MP camera (also with additional features).
The reason I’m writing about this deal is that Amazon has an AWESOME deal on this camera right now. It normally lists at $699, but is on sale for $598, but if you buy the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS telephoto zoom lens at the time of purchase (normally lists for $399), you get instant savings of $200. So to make a long story short, I bought the camera and lense which would normally cost around $1000 for only $638!!!! I’ve looked for this camera and found it locally in the $600 – $700 range locally. The camera also comes with a EF-S 18-55mm, f3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens. So that’s 2 lenses (telephoto, and standard zoom lens as well as the camera body) for only $638. This offer is valid through November 21, 2009. And it comes with FREE super saver shipping!

So after a few Twitter discussions, I thought I would talk about a couple POV (Point of View) camcorders. These cameras are extremely fun to use. They’re not super versatile, but POV cameras are great for capturing video of activities you normally can’t capture. Like a mountain bike ride, motorcycle road trip, etc. I found a cool video review where it shows someone surfing.
These cameras come in a water proof enclosure and use a SD card to store video data. Also, the price of these are very affordable and worth it for a fun video project.
This week, I’ll be discussing a few more POV cameras. I think these are definitely worth talking about. If you have one, let me know your experiences.
