A few days ago, I posted the differences between the Flip Video Mino and Ultra HD camcorders and a visitor to the site was very interested in these cameras so he could do some video blogging of musical instruments and gear. He mentioned this to a few of his friends, and couple recommended the Sony Webbie (and I’m presuming it was the MHS-PM1 since it’s somewhat similar to the Flip Video), so I thought I would post about this particular camcorder.

I found this interesting video where a guy compares the Sony Webbie HD MHS-PM1 against his Panasonic SDR-S7 camera and by doing so exposes some of it’s features and limitations, that I could see being applied against the Flip Video series.

Number one he mentions the rotating lense on the Sony Webbie, which makes it very nice to film yourself while being able to view the screen. You cannot do this with the Flip Video models (unfortunately). He also exposes the ‘noise’ related to grip on the Webbie, which I can see becoming a issue depending on the application.
